For the last 24 months, Piotr Wieczorkiewicz, as a Board Advisor, was responsible for the implementation of the platform enabling the inclusion of convergent services in the T-Mobile portfolio.

The new Member of the Management Board of NEXERA is a graduate of the Faculty of Electronics at the Warsaw University of Technology and holds an Executive MBA from the Leon Koźmiński Academy.

– Joining the NEXERA team gives me a chance to take part in one of the biggest telecommunication undertakings in Poland in recent years, both in terms of the scale of investment and its impact on the development of Polish society. Building a fibre-optic network in areas where so far it has not been commercially profitable for anyone is an opportunity for everyone. The era of infrastructure sharing and cooperation between telecommunications operators has come. I am convinced the NEXERA project will be successful under these conditions. It will be a big challenge and a great adventure – says Piotr Wieczorkiewicz.

– It is with joy and great expectations that we welcome Piotr Wieczorkiewicz as a Member of the Board for Operations in our team. I am convinced that his experience and commitment will allow us to achieve our business goals, but also our mission even more efficiently and effectively. Counteracting digital exclusion and opening up new opportunities for local communities, which will improve the quality of life, streamline work and facilitate the functioning of business, are very important objectives that we will be able to achieve thanks to the fastest possible establishment of our network – comments Jacek Wiśniewski, CEO of NEXERA.

NEXERA is Poland's first exclusively wholesale operator of a large scale fibre-optic access network. The company is implementing an important infrastructure project for Poland under the Digital Poland Operational Programme (Program Operacyjny Polska Cyfrowa - POPC), which aims to eliminate territorial differences in broadband Internet access. NEXERA deals with the construction and management of a fibre-optic access network in four Regions of Poland: Łódzkie, Świętokrzyskie, Kujawy with Pomerania and Mazovia and the Warmia and Mazury Region.

- We are glad that Piotr Wieczorkiewicz will support us with his rich knowledge and many years of experience. Our strengthened management team will be even better suited to cope with the challenge of providing stable, fast Internet access to as many households, schools, institutions and companies as possible - says Andy Matthews, Infracapital Greenfield Managing Director, Chairman of the NEXERA Supervisory Board.

- NEXERA has gained another experienced and highly competent board member. I am sure that his fresh perspective on the process of building and operating the network will contribute to NEXERA's success in the POPC Regions - adds Stef van Aarle, Senior Vice President Services, Fixed Networks, Nokia, Member of the NEXERA Supervisory Board.

By 2021, more than 670,000 households and almost 3,000 schools and educational units from 14 areas located in central and north-eastern Poland will be connected to NEXERA's fibre-optic network. Schools and educational units within the range of the NEXERA network have a guaranteed connection with a minimum speed of 100Mb/s, which they can use free of charge.
